Airfinns is an independent travel agency, not an airline. We charge a service fee for finding, booking, ticketing and supporting your flight. It pays for our work and our booking desk, and it is separate from the airfare and from anything the airline charges. You see the exact amount before you pay online, and our agents read it out and get your OK before taking any payment by phone.
Our service fee is its own line on the price breakdown before you confirm. If you haven't seen it and agreed to it, you aren't charged it.
How much is the service fee?
It depends on how you book and, for agent bookings, how much work the trip takes. It is charged per passenger.

- An online booking for 2 passengers has a $35 × 2 = $70 service fee.
- Agent-assisted bookings cost more because an agent builds, prices and double-checks the itinerary with you.
- Simple trips stay at the lower end of the agent range; the fee rises with the work involved, never above $250 per passenger.
- Lap infants under 2 are not charged an Airfinns service fee.
What makes a trip "simple" or "complex"?
A simple trip is a straightforward one-way or round trip, with everyone on the same flights. A trip is complex if it includes any of the following:
- Open-jaw or multi-stop routings — flying into one city and home from another, or more than one stopover.
- Split returns — travellers fly out together but return on different dates.
- International itineraries with more than one airline or several connections.
- Mixed cabins — for example, business one way and economy the other.
- Groups of 5 or more travellers that need coordinating.
- Special handling — unaccompanied minors, pets in the cabin, or several infants across airlines.
Two cousins fly Chicago → Delhi together on Dec 2. One returns on Dec 20 and the other on Jan 4. Because the return is built and ticketed on two different dates, our agent treats it as a complex trip and quotes the fee before booking.
After your ticket is issued
Changes, cancellations and refunds on an issued ticket are handled by an Airfinns agent at our agent rates, per passenger, on top of any airline penalty and fare difference. We quote the full amount and get your approval first.

- Changing a date or route, and anything on a partly-used ticket, always counts as complex work.
- If the airline caused the disruption, we rebook you with no Airfinns fee.
- If the airline doesn't charge for a change (for example, on a flexible fare), you pay only our service fee.

Airline taxes and charges
Taxes and charges are set by governments, airports and airlines and collected on the ticket. On US domestic itineraries they typically include the federal ticket tax, the flight segment fee, the September 11th Security Fee ($5.60 per one-way trip) and Passenger Facility Charges (up to $4.50 per airport). International tickets include the taxes of each country on the itinerary and, on some routes, carrier-imposed charges. Airlines may also charge you directly for bags, seat selection and airport services — these are not collected by Airfinns.
Is the service fee refundable?
The service fee pays for work already done to book your trip, so it is generally non-refundable, even if you later cancel. It is refunded in full if you cancel within the airline's void window, or if the airline cancels or significantly changes your flight and you choose a refund. Currency
All prices on Airfinns are in US dollars. If your card was issued outside the US, your bank may add a foreign transaction fee.
